Cat scratching? No. Special? Very.
Martin Luther King's birthday is celebrated on the third Monday of January, and I try to take the day off. As an independent with my own businesses, though, there are few days off when I do absolutely nothing related to work. Today is no exception.
However, my wife has the day off so she and I will soon head to downtown Milwaukee to tour Discovery World and take in several other sights, including the new Amtrack station.
I think all people owe a debt of gratitude to MLK for helping us find our way to equality and understanding. He was also a champion of peace.
He wrote and said many brilliant things. One of my favorites is, "We must either learn to live together as brothers or we are all going to perish together as fools.” Happy birthday, Dr. King.
